Bronze Cross marks the transition from basic lifesaving to lifeguarding preparation, equipping candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards. Participants strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills while learning to apply active surveillance principles and techniques in aquatic environments. The course emphasizes the importance of teamwork and effective communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Society’s National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs and includes Standard First Aid certification. PREREQUISITES: Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid certifications. ATTENDANCE: Full attendance at all scheduled classes is mandatory.
